Manju Mam

she was a firecracker

came to our lives, shared her glow and left

the woman who made my sixth grade achievable

the one who cared about our happiness rather than grades

the one who was full of life

the woman who cared about our absences

the woman who respected us despite our flaws

the one who made us sing and dance to” If you are happy and you know it clap your hands!”

the one who made us act stupid when we were shy of adolescence

the one who took us out to play

the one who always fell for our love and demands

the one who sobbed in tears and made our heart glow on her last day at school

today after eight years I remember her, with a smile on my face

thinking how thankful I was to have her as my class teacher,

Manju Mam!
